Tyrese Fenner, who attends Parktown Boys’ High School, was one of three fans from Johannesburg to receive the latest New Balance Proteas ODI replica kit.

Fenner was given the kit in recognition of his devotion to the Proteas team.

After providing New Balance with a motivation as to why he is the ultimate Proteas fan, Fenner was treated to a once in a lifetime experience – a surprise visit to his school from Proteas batsman Temba Bavuma who delivered the kit and personally thanked him for his support of the team.

Craig Bowen, country manager of the footwear manufacturing company said, “With a big international season ahead, we are excited to make the new Proteas ODI replica kit available to supporters around the country from the 23 May. To coincide with the new season’s launch and in partnership with Cricket South Africa and the Proteas we are proud to recognise 11 fans who can only be described as ‘ultimate Proteas supporters’.

“We urge all South Africans to get behind the Proteas, wear their supporters kit on match days and give 100 per cent for the Proteas this season, especially for the Champion’s Trophy.”

Bavuma said, “Visiting Tyrese and recognising his ongoing support of our team was a great experience. South Africa has some of the most loyal and passionate fans in the world. We play for them and want to make them proud. We can’t wait to see everyone at the stadiums in their new green and gold, supporting the Proteas this season. Remember, we are all in this together.
