State prosecutor arrested for alleged corruption

The Hawks’ Serious Corruption in Parktown recently arrested a State prosecutor and his wife for alleged corruption.

This is according to Captain Ndivhuwo Mulamu, spokesperson for the Hawks.

“It is alleged that the prosecutor demanded R6 000 from the two suspects who are facing charges of possession of unlicensed firearms at the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court for him to make the docket disappear,” explained Mulamu.

The matter was then reported to the Hawks’ offices and an entrapment operation was conducted. Both the suspects were arrested at a restaurant in Maponya Mall allegedly in possession of the entrapment money brought by the alleged suspects.

The duo aged 33 and 38 will appear in the Protea Magistrates’ Court soon to face charges of corruption.
