St John’s College pupils excels in maths Olympiad

Andy Qu came first in the maths Olympiad.

Pupils of St John’s College in Johannesburg recently entered the Gauteng Provincial Maths Olympiad.

The following pupils were awarded at a ceremony for excelling in the Olympiad:

Junior Section

Andy Qu –1st place (100 percent in the second round)

Daniel Sanderson – 2nd place.

Senior Section

Michael Copeland – 2nd place

Nicholas Brinkmann – 3rd place (joint with two others).

Qu bagged 10th place in the country in the junior section which was a wonderful achievement for a Grade 8 pupil in a category dominated by Grade 9 pupils.
