Jason retains his title

Jason Batzofin once again captures the title of War-games Junior World Championship after winning it last year.

Jason Batzofin, a pupil at St John’s College and a resident in Observatory, participated at the IWF’s 18th World Individual Championships held on 20 and 21 June and retained his title in the Ancients War-games period.

Batzofin ended last year’s war-gaming year well in December by winning the South African National Championships. However, his results have been erratic in the War-games discipline since January, although Jason did still win the Gauteng Schools Championships and the Johannesburg Regional Championships.

Jason too finished in tie second place at the 2015 MWEB Mpumalanga Provincial Championships.

After what he considered to be an unsatisfactory Mpumalanga Championships, Jason re-looked at his strategies and army choice. Jason therefore went into the 2015 World Championships, a leaner, meaner fighting machine. The effort that Jason put in paid dividends as he captured the title of Junior World Champion, which he has now won for two consecutive years. Although Jason is convinced that he can win the title again next year, Jason now has his eyes set on the senior title.
