A mobile application loyalty programme to reward customers was launched at Starbucks in Rosebank.

According to Carlo Gonzaga, CEO of Taste Holdings – a Starbucks licensed partner in South Africa, the application designed with customers in mind, will allow the coffee house to better communicate with customers.

Starbucks Rewards consists of two levels which are Green and Gold and customers earn one star for every R2 spent. To reach Gold level customers have to earn 750 stars.

“A further benefit is never having to worry about carrying around your wallet or purse, as you pay directly from the app,” said Gonzaga. “Convenience and ease of use are paramount and we are confident that our app will deliver for our customers.”

Customers can join the programme by registering directly on the app or through a Starbucks card available from stores. The Starbucks mobile app is available for iOS and Android devices.
